Essential Health Clinic

Cupping Therapy

Cupping uses gentle suction to lift skin and the soft tissue underneath instead of pressing down on it. That decompression eases tight muscle layers and draws blood flow into the area under each cup. At our Woodbridge clinic you can book cupping as its own 30 or 45 minute session, or have it used inside a chiropractic, physiotherapy, or massage therapy plan. Every practitioner who applies it is a regulated health professional.

What Brings You In

Concerns Cupping Therapy Treats

Back and Shoulder Tension

Back and Shoulder Tension That Keeps Coming Back

The band across the upper back, the knot under the shoulder blade, the tightness that loosens for two days and then returns. Cupping lifts those layers apart instead of pressing them together.

Treatments+

Static cups placed over the restricted band, or slid along it, usually across a 30 minute session. Larger areas or a combination with hands-on work fit the 45 minute booking better. Deep tissue massage is the usual alternative when sustained pressure suits the area better.

Causes+

Hours in one posture keep the same muscles part-contracted and the fascia over them stops sliding freely. The layers stick to each other, and pressing down on stuck tissue often just moves the problem around.

Cupping Therapy Process

Decompression, start to finish.

Cupping books as a 30 or 45 minute session of its own, and also runs inside chiropractic, physiotherapy, and massage therapy plans. Here is what happens either way.

Step 01 · Assess
First we work out which session your case belongs in.

Cupping is delivered here in two ways, and the right one depends on your case. If cupping is the whole reason you are coming in, the standalone 30 or 45 minute session is the booking. If you are already being treated for something and cupping is one tool among several, it belongs inside that plan. The front desk can route you on the phone, and every first visit opens with a contraindication screen for the skin and the area being worked.

Details+
  • • Skin condition over the area: intact skin only, no broken or irritated surfaces
  • • Blood thinners, bleeding disorders, and any clotting history
  • • Whether the case is better served inside a chiropractic, physiotherapy, or massage plan
  • • Upcoming events, so the marks can be planned around rather than explained after

Honest Scope

When Cupping Isn't the Right First Call

See a physician first

Broken, irritated, or infected skin over the area, active skin conditions, bleeding disorders, or blood thinning medication. Suction pulls fluid toward the surface, so anything that changes how you bleed or heal needs medical clearance before a cup goes on. Undiagnosed swelling or pain also gets assessed first.

Screened at every first visit

Every first session opens with a skin and health screen. Medication list, clotting history, skin condition over the area, and anything that changes the plan. If something needs medical review first, the session waits and you will be told directly rather than worked around.

When a different approach leads

Cupping treats soft tissue restriction. If the driver is a joint, a nerve, a disc, or a pelvic floor issue, another discipline should lead and cupping supports it later if at all. Chiropractic, physiotherapy, osteopathy, and shockwave therapy are all in-house, and the intake routes you honestly.

Your Treatment Practitioners

Cupping is applied here by regulated professionals.

Two practitioners hold cupping in their published credentials and specializations, and cupping therapy is a confirmed technique across our registered massage therapy team, who deliver the standalone 30 and 45 minute sessions on the booking menu.

Get To Know

Steps to your first consultation.

02

Step Two

The first visit opens with a skin and health screen, then a short conversation about the area and your goal. Cups go on at a suction level you agree to, and it is adjusted through the session. You leave knowing what your marks will look like and roughly how long they will last.

01

Step One

Book the 30 minute session at $90 or the 45 minute session at $115 online at essentialchirormt.janeapp.com, or call 905-856-2299. No referral is required.

03

Step Three

A recent tight spot can change in one or two sessions. Tissue that has been restricted for months usually needs a short series, often three to five sessions a week or two apart, with the interval widening as the area holds. Your practitioner gives you a number after the first session, not before it.
